TITLE: Web Assistant
ASSIGNMENT: Assistant to design lead, under the supervision of NYU Institute of Fine Arts Digital Media and Computer Services staff.
NOTE: This position is covered by the NYU Graduate Student Union, as such, you may only apply for the position if you are currently pursuing a graduate degree within NYU.
DUTIES: The Institute of Fine Arts' Digital Media / Computer Services department has a job opening for a new student staff member, starting this fall. The successful applicant will work closely with the department's web manager to help design a new website for the Institute (http://www.ifa.nyu.edu). This job is a great opportunity for a creative minded individual who would like experience in creating web based content including photography and video and interaction with social media.
Proficiency in HTML and CSS is required, and experience with Javascript is important. Experience with UI/UX design is also extremely helpful. Applicants must be willing to travel off campus occasionally since the IFA is located on 78th street near the Metropolitan Museum, however most of the work can be done remotely through Github.

LENGTH OF HIRE: We are seeking applicants for the current academic year only.
HOURS: Up to 15 hours per week, as dedicated by the bargaining agreement between Local 2110 and the University. The appointment starts fall 2024.

PAY RATE: Hourly positions (bargaining unit eligible): In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base salary range for student employment positions are $16-$18 per hour for undergraduate students and $29.00-$30 per hour for graduate students. The hourly rate for graduate employees is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 2110.
FEDERAL WORK STUDY: Federal Work Study is not required for this role, unless specifically stated within the job description. If you are eligible to receive Federal Work-Study funds, your eligibility status will be disclosed to the hiring manager to ensure proper processing if hired.
